Blackfriars Theatre & Dance Academy

Hello!

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Summer Term of Blackfriars Theatre Academy. We hope you all had a fantastic Easter and would like to say Congratulations to those of you that took part in The Wizard Of Oz – you all performed wonderfully and the professional actors were very impressed. Once again we are delighted to see so many of our existing members return, and we also welcome those of you that are with us for the very first time. This welcome pack will give you an overview of the term ahead, and contains important information and key dates to help you plan your busy schedules. Please read this pack carefully and if you have any questions please feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience.

Dates for the Summer Term, 2011 are as follows:

Saturday 30th April – Saturday 16th July.

Group times are as follows:

Little Stars 10am – 11.30am Rising Stars 10am – 11.30am

Super Stars 11.30am – 1.30pm Mega Stars 2pm – 4pm

Term fees remain the same at £86 for Little Stars and Rising Stars, and £114 for Super Stars and Mega Stars.

THE TERM AHEAD!!!!

During this term we will be working on our next production “Glee – The Musical” for Super Stars and Mega Stars which will take place on July 14th, 15th and 16th. Little Stars and Rising Stars will perform their own show on July 16th called “Hans Christian Anderson”.

B'Oscars

On Saturday 11th June, 2011 to celebrate the children’s achievements throughout the year. Hollywood has the Oscars, and BTA will have the B’Oscars as all members and their families are invited to attend the glittering ceremony complete with food, drink and a disco. The prestigious evening will be held at the Assembly Rooms in Boston from 6.30pm – 11pm and tickets cost £15 for Adults and £10 for Children, which includes food, disco, and the awards ceremony. This is a reduced price following some funding that we have been given by a local sponsor. The evening will be great fun and give us all a chance to dress up in our posh clothes and party the night away.

PETER PAN

We are thrilled to announce that this year’s professional pantomime will be The Magical Adventures of Peter Pan, which runs at Blackfriars from Friday December 9th – Tuesday January 3rd. Once again we will be looking for local children to be the lost boys, Indians, dancers and we will also be casting the roles of Michael and John too. Auditions will be announced shortly and we look forward to you all attending to see if you have what it takes to be part of this amazing professional production.

ACADEMY UNIFORM

As you are probably aware, we do have an Academy uniform. The uniform looks great when the students are all wearing them and in the event that we are invited out to perform at functions a uniform is also required to be worn. The t shirt costs £10.50 and is available in the following sizes:
